Ramanvi Technologies India Pvt. Ltd. ("Ramanvi", "we", "us" or "our") provides software applications and services to businesses, including merchants who use Shopify to power their stores. This Privacy Policy describes how information is collected, used, shared and retained when you install or use a Ramanvi Shopify app, use another Ramanvi software product, visit our websites, or contact us for support or services.
1. Personal Information Ramanvi Shopify Apps May Collect
When a merchant installs a Ramanvi Shopify app, Shopify may provide information necessary to authenticate the store and operate the app. Depending on the specific app and the permissions approved by the merchant, this may include the Shopify store domain, store or organization identifiers, merchant or store contact information made available by Shopify, installation and authorization information, and the Shopify resources required for the app's disclosed functionality.
The exact API scopes differ by app. A Ramanvi app will only request the Shopify permissions required for its functionality. The permissions presented by Shopify during installation and in the applicable Shopify App Store listing are the controlling description of the API access requested by that app.
Where an app's functionality requires access to Shopify resources, those resources may include products, variants, inventory, orders, fulfilment information, customers, subscriptions, discounts, locations, content, or other store objects. This list describes categories that may be relevant across Ramanvi's Shopify app portfolio; it does not mean that every Ramanvi app accesses every category.
2. Information Collected Independently From Shopify APIs
Depending on how you interact with Ramanvi, we may also receive information directly from you, including your name, business name, email address, phone number, support correspondence, project requirements, billing or commercial information, and other information you choose to provide.
Our applications and websites may generate technical information needed to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service, such as timestamps, request and error logs, browser or device information, IP address, app version, store identifier, session or authentication status, and diagnostic events. We do not require merchants to provide information that is unrelated to the function of the applicable service.
3. Information About Merchant Customers
Some Shopify apps can perform their disclosed function without customer personal data; other app categories may require access to customer or order information. Ramanvi does not assume access to merchant-customer data merely because an app is installed. If a specific Ramanvi app requires protected customer data, the app will request only the relevant Shopify access and its listing, installation permissions and product documentation should reflect that use.
Ramanvi does not independently place tracking technologies on a merchant's storefront or collect information directly from storefront visitors unless that functionality is expressly part of the specific app and is disclosed for that app.
4. How We Use Information
- Provide, operate and maintain the installed app or requested service.
- Authenticate merchants, stores, organizations and authorized users.
- Read, create, update or otherwise process Shopify resources only where required for the app's disclosed functionality and approved permissions.
- Respond to support requests, product enquiries and service communications.
- Process subscriptions, billing status or commercial relationships where applicable.
- Monitor reliability, diagnose errors, prevent abuse and maintain security.
- Comply with legal obligations, contractual commitments and marketplace requirements, including Shopify privacy requests.
- Improve product functionality using information that is appropriate for that purpose and consistent with this policy.
5. Shopify Privacy Requests and Mandatory Compliance Webhooks
Shopify requires apps distributed through the Shopify App Store to support privacy requests. Ramanvi Shopify apps are designed to respond, as applicable, to Shopify's mandatory privacy topics for customer data requests, customer redaction requests and shop redaction requests.
When Ramanvi receives a valid privacy request from Shopify, we identify the information associated with the relevant store or customer and take the required action within the period required by Shopify and applicable law, unless retention is legally required. A Shopify privacy webhook does not by itself mean that a particular Ramanvi app stores customer personal data.
6. Sharing Personal Information
Ramanvi may use service providers that support hosting, databases, infrastructure, email, monitoring, customer support, security, analytics, billing or other operational functions. These providers receive information only as needed to perform services for Ramanvi and are expected to handle it under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.
Information may also be shared when required to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process or lawful government request; to enforce agreements; to investigate fraud or security incidents; or to protect the rights, property or safety of Ramanvi, merchants, users or others.
Ramanvi does not sell merchant or customer personal information obtained through Shopify APIs.
7. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the applicable app or service, maintain security and support records, satisfy contractual or accounting requirements, resolve disputes, or comply with law. Retention can vary by app because different apps perform different functions.
When a Shopify app is uninstalled, the app no longer has ongoing authorized access to the merchant's Shopify Admin through that installation. Data already stored by Ramanvi is handled according to the app's function, this policy, applicable law and Shopify's privacy-redaction process. Valid Shopify redaction requests are processed within the timeframe required by Shopify, subject to any lawful retention requirement.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection to certain processing, or other rights provided by applicable privacy law. Merchants may contact Ramanvi directly using the details below. Requests concerning a merchant's customer may also reach Ramanvi through Shopify's privacy-request process.
We may request enough information to verify a request and identify the relevant store, account or data before acting on it.
9. International Data Processing
Ramanvi is based in India and may use infrastructure or service providers in other countries. As a result, information may be processed outside the country in which the merchant or individual is located. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, Ramanvi will use an appropriate lawful mechanism.
10. Security
Ramanvi uses administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. Access to production systems and merchant data is limited to authorized purposes. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. Cookies, Log Files and Similar Technologies
Ramanvi websites may use essential cookies or similar technologies needed for security, preferences and website operation. We may also use limited analytics or diagnostic technologies where permitted. Ramanvi Shopify apps may use session, authentication or technical mechanisms required to function inside Shopify Admin. Any non-essential tracking or marketing technology is subject to applicable consent and disclosure requirements.
12. Other Platform Integrations
Ramanvi also builds software for platforms such as Salesforce, Atlassian/Jira, ServiceNow and ecommerce systems. Data available to those integrations depends on the permissions approved by the customer and the rules of the applicable platform. Those platforms process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
13. Children
Ramanvi's products and services are designed for businesses and are not directed to children.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our apps, data practices, marketplace requirements, legal obligations or operational processes. The latest version and update date will be published on this page.
